AutoSleep Addon Tutorial

Using the CRON, WP Vide Robot will run your active sources automatically. Unfortunately, some of those sources won’t find any new videos for a while, simply because no new videos have been posted on the monitored channels or playlists. Those unfruitful sources will consume resources unnecessarily.

Many customers have suggested some smart way to have the sources disable themselves automatically after a defined number of unfruitful executions. That’s why we’ve decided to build the AutoSleep add-on to achieve this task, even with some other features.

The add-on comes with some cool features:

  1. Allows sources to turn themselves off after a defined number of failure executions
  2. Allows sources to turn themselves on after a defined delay (hours)

Upload and Install it as a plugin on your site. If you need help to install this WPVR add-on, here is a tutorial for that.

Once the add-on is installed and activated, you need to enable it by heading to WPVR Addons > AutoSleep.

Notice: This add-on works only when your sources on auto-run executions. It means, that WP Video Robot should be configured properly to be executed automatically. Here is bunch of tutorials , if you ever need help on that.

1/ On the source edition screen, under the Source Automation meta box, you need to turn on the Source.

2/ After that, you’ll notice a new ON/OFF button named Source AutoSleep. Turn it on.
3/ You have 2 options under that section:

  • AutoSleep Trigger :
This option allows you to specify how many failure executions should occur before this source should turn itself off
  • AutoSleep Delay:
This option defines how many hours this source should off before turning itself on back again

That’s it! WP Video Robot will automatically run the sources.
