Custom Taxonomies Addon Tutorial

Taxonomies are a WordPress grouping mechanism for posts, links or custom post types. The WP Video Robot Custom Taxonomies add-on will let you attach your own custom taxonomies to your imported videos. In other words, you’ll be able to organize, classify and sort your imported videos with ease.

This tutorial will detail the content of this add-on and show you how to use Custom Taxonomies.

If you need help to install this WPVR add-on, here is a tutorial for that.

1/ After uploading and activating the CT add-onhead to WPVR Add-ons > Custom Tax. Then you should enable the add-on.

2/ Then, you need to select the taxonomies and post types you want the plugin to handle during the video import process. Then click save options.

3/ A new Custom Tax. tab will show up under your sources edition screen. There, you’ll have a dropdown for each one of the taxonomies you’ve selected in the previous step. Pick up the terms or values you want your source to automatically assign to your imported videos.

4/ On videos listing screen, right at the bottom of Video Info, you can have a quick overview of your taxonomies auto-assigned terms for each video.

5/ Besides, right from the video edition screen, you can check that your selected taxonomies terms have been correctly assigned.

That’s it! WP Video Robot will automatically organize your imported video the way you want with your Custom Taxonomies.
